Carl Sundstrom

Carl Sundstrom is a retired military officer and occupations therapist.  He obtained a B.S. Degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University and a M.S. Degree in Physiology from the University of Southern California.  He has worked in health care for 43 years prior to retiring.  Last working position was in Occupational Medicine and Health at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana.  He has been involved with Granite County health care since 2003 serving on the Health Care Advisory Board and then elected as a trustee to the Granite County Hospital District.

I’m a retired Physician Assistant who began my career as a Nursing Assistant at the Hospital in Philipsburg in 1960. Past positions include LPN, Medical examiner, FEMA director, EMT and ACLS provider for a volunteer ambulance. I have experience in Clinics, Hospitals and Nursing Homes, all of which have been in rural areas.

Judy Martin Friede has been a life time resident of Granite County and Hospital District Board Member since August 2011. Judy and her husband, Butch, live on a ranch near Hall where they raised their two children. She is currently employed at The Sapphire Gallery where she has worked for eight years. Judy remembers going to see our County Health Nurse, Margo Bowers, when the clinic in Drummond was a trailer house. She is excited to be a part of the continued growth in health care in Granite County. Judy would encourage Granite County residents to learn about and take advantage of the professional health care services offered here.

I have served as a volunteer member of the Granite County Health Advisory Board for approximately eight years. I was elected as a Trustee to the Granite County Health District and have served as Chairman of the Board for two consecutive years of a three-year term. As a local business owner I am very actively involved in my community.

I am a consistent and concerned volunteer in many different organizations for the past twenty years including the Chamber of Commerce, volunteer fire brigade, high school volleyball coach, and for one term as a city councilman, and many youth organizations.  I will continue to volunteer where and whenever I am needed in this wonderful county I call home.
